Schaeffler sees humanoid robotics orders in three-digit million euros by 2030

Schaeffler expects its humanoid robotics business to build an order book in the hundreds of millions of euros by 2030, CEO Klaus Rosenfeld said after Q1 results.

Schaeffler is collaborating with around 45 humanoid robotics players globally and currently has five customer contracts, with its largest customers in China and the United States, Rosenfeld said. The collaborations involve exchanging prototypes, discussing potential order intake, and jointly developing manufacturing concepts.

The company has already secured its first meaningful contracts for actuators and strain wave gears used in robotics, indicating that component supply chains are forming ahead of mass production. The three-digit million euro order book target by 2030 suggests Schaeffler expects humanoid robotics to become a material revenue stream within the decade.
